Critics agree, Americans have the worst diet on the planet. The standard American diet consists of fats, sweets, carbohydrates and low fiber. Translated, this means 50% carbohydrates, 35% fat, and 15% protein. This further translates to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer.

Americans are getting themselves into bad health or worse, and early grave. Statistics show that more than 50% of Americans are overweight. Overweight is another name for obesity. Foods with no substance (nutritional value) are replacing healthy foods.

Processed foods are the worst types of food Americans include in their diet. Processed foods are saturated with starches, processed grains, fructose, salts, and lots of artificial covering. Hot dogs are found to be one of America’s favorite foods, but it is also found to contribute to cancer.

High Sugar Intake

Everyone has a sweet tooth from time to time, but too much sugar is destroying the health of American children and adults. Most sugars come in the form of artificial sweeteners like aspartame, which ultimately causes liver damage, and contribute to type 2 diabetes. Agave is another sweetener that is high in sugar and should be avoided.

Good Fatty Foods are Not all Bad

The body needs healthy fats to keep the cells strong and the skin glowing. Nuts are great, but too many of them can cause high cholesterol, and should be eaten in moderation. Good fats in nuts like pecans, cashews, walnuts, peanuts and sunflower seeds, should be eaten sparingly.

The Cure for Good Health

Doctors will have patients to believe that medication is the only way to good health. This is simply not true. Eating organic plants and natural foods without pesticides, chemicals and artificial flavoring can increase good health.

The best cure for cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease, is a good clean organic diet and exercise.
